Another Animal?s self titled debut album was released this past Tuesday. The album features the single ?Broken Again.? This is the first record for Another Animal, but not for the members of the band. Whit Crane from Ugly Kid Joe joins Tony Rombola, Lee Richards, Robbie Merrill and Shannon Larkin from Godsmack to become Another Animal. When Shannon and the guys from Godsmack needed a singer for their new band, he called on his old friend Whit Crane to step in. Shannon and Whit had previously played together on Ugly Kid Joe?s album Menace to Sobriety.
Another Animal?s name is a perfect description for what the new band has become. By incorporating elements of hard rock, metal, punk, and grunge, Another Animal is an eclectic tribute to the sounds the members grew up with. “It was so organic and fun to do,” says Rombola. “It was a great experience because there were no preconceptions. We just did what we felt like in order to create some really cool songs without worrying about what audience it was for.”
With the new record in stores today and the first show of their US tour kicking off tonight, Another Animal are playing the music they love and enjoying the ride. For more information on the tour or to check out the bands single, ?Broken Again,? go to the Another Animal Myspace page.

Knights In Paris Update
It appears that after much anticipation we will finally get to hear some demos of Knights In Paris, with vocals, and over a 20 seconds long. 🙂
Here’s a recent blog post:
Now that I’m back on the road with Senses Fail, I will still try to keep you guys updated as often as possible with what’s going down with Knights In Paris. I also will try to keep up my weekly blog posts.
So here’s what is going down in the Knights In Paris camp. While I’m on tour, Nick and I will attempt to go back to how we started this, writing from the road a bit, sending files to each other, and i’m gonna work on finishing up some vocals/lyrics for some other songs we have that I haven’t finished.
As far as posting a demo goes, we have them ready to go, I’m just trying to get the “ok” to do so. Unfortunately in the music industry, sometimes things aren’t as easy as just doing something. BUT, I promise it will be sooner than later, and we’re trying our best to make it as quick as possible.
Also as I said in another post, we’re finishing up the details on getting our Online Store together, which should be done within the next couple of weeks.
Lastly, thanks to our friend Dan, we’re also working on a lovely new Myspace Layout to go up when we release some tunes.
Hope to see you all soon,
Mike
Funeral For A Friend will release a very special mini album on October 15th through Atlantic Records. Entitled ‘The Great Wide Open‘, it will include the track of the same name from the ‘Tales Don’t Tell Themselves‘ album as well as the video that is currently in rotation but also 8 classic live tracks – the 1st 2 EPs ‘Between Order & Model‘ and ‘Four Ways To Scream Your Name‘ – in full recorded live at the Barfly in London in August this year. These tracks are not available anywhere else and are exclusive to this release.
The mini album will be available at all usual retailers and we will be posting a presale link later this week for advance orders.
An Underoath Documentary
It appears that Underoath will be creating a documentary about the band, read more:
It seems I find myself and the rest of the UO camp constantly looking around at the music industry, the injustices inflicted on our peers by heartless, money hungry suits, and consistent downward spiral of quality and content within the music of so many bands we seem to be seeing along our journey and just scratching our heads. It more times than not, turns into a productive driving force to do anything and all that we can to evaluate our business ethics and more importantly our vision of what our music has to say as well as the way it sounds. In all of this there has been one facet of our industry we have yet to tackle until now….the art of film making. It seems that dvds have become the newest form of watered down content that labels are latching onto to package with cd’s and make a buck. Although I think there is something to be said about giving a band a camera for a year, letting them shoot whatever they want, whenever they want , and then editing it down for everyone to see, I feel that the innocence that this approach was once birthed in is now the newest trend of indie labels everywhere. Everyone has a dvd or a re-release packaged with some sort of video content. At this point in the game its hard to stomach 90% of the band related film coming out now. Upon realizing the magnitude of the artistic defficiency within this realm of media, we found ourselves racking our brains and hitting the drawing boards to see how UO could take what everyone is doing and attempt to raise the bar well beyond the status quo. Months of deliberation and brain storming has resulted in a small film team working under the name “The Audible Diversion Group” following our fall tour and shooting a third person documentary for the entirety of “We Believe In Dino-Tours”. The film is being shot in 720p High Definition 16:9 widescreen format. Details are still coming together, but I can tell you that this will be the best piece of visual art this band has every released. We have two places where you can read up on the progress of the project and the tour, www.myspace.com/underoathmovie and www.underoathmovie.com. Ryan has posted a short video montage of some early footage and you can read journal entries from Ryan, Seay, and Justin. I hope you all find this as exciting as I do. Be well friends and thank you to all who have come out to all of the shows on this tour thus far, and to all who have yet to come. God bless you.

The South African ?migr?s, who now live in the Los Angeles area, are coming off three consecutive gold certified studio albums, including debut “Disclaimer” and “Karma & Effect”. The new album titled “Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces” will be the band’s third US studio recording of new material. Singer Shaun Morgan offered, “We didn’t restrict ourselves to straight rock songs, and we were completely open to new ideas. This is not by any stretch of the imagination a concept album, nor is it a ‘woe is me, I’m sober’ album. We explored our melodic side a little bit more, and as a result, I believe this is our best collective effort to date. It may come as a surprise to some, but we feel like we’ve grown and are starting to find our place with regard to the sound of the band.”

In a recent interview with an American college newspaper, The Maine Campus, Gerard Way had a few harsh words about the definition and over use of the word/genre “emo”. Way stated, “I think emo’s a pile of shit. I think emo is fucking garbage. It’s bullshit.” He continued to follow with, “I think there are bands that we get lumped in with that are considered emo and, by default, that starts to make us emo and all I can say is anyone actually listening to the records, put the records next to each other and listen to them and there’s actually no similarities.”
A few months back Gerard Way’s band, My Chemical Romance were a topic on The War on Emo, which was a feature in a Britsh newspaper, The Daily Mail. Way has declared war on emo himself. Where is this going?
Bleed The Dream will be calling it quits after their live performances in Anchorage, Alaska this upcoming October. There hasn’t been any release on exactly why they will be ending. They recently released Killer Inside earlier this year, in which will be their latest support. The album released on Warcon Records.
Norma Jean have split with their drummer Daniel Davidson. They stated that it was for personal and spiritual indifferences. The band will continute to tour in support of their latest release, Redeemer.
A fan of All Time Low was given a 3-day suspension in a Maryland middle school for display this photo in her locker.
Here is Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low’s response to the suspension:
Personally, I’m a little upset that anyone would find that picture to be ‘offensive.’ We tried our very hardest to look as sexy as possible and I think that maybe the administrative figures responsible for suspending the student were just jealous of our dashing, young physiques. I don’t see any harm in carrying that particular picture around in a school environment. In fact, I’ve been speculating that studies may prove that the picture actually stimulates brain activity, and promotes greater levels of success in the classroom. But that’s just one theory..
