Go listen to Thrice – The Alchemy Index volumes I & II: Fire & Water up for full stream on their myspace right now!
And go pick up the album in stores now! (and on iTunes and Amazon MP3 and eMusic)
Dillinger Escape Plans will be releasing their new album Ire Works in about 1 month from now. A new song, Lurch, can be found on their myspace.
Here’s a recent post from the band:
So check it out. One month from now our new album drops. So to tide you over for another thirty days we just put up another song called “Lurch”. It’s a fucking face melter. So if getting your face melted off is your idea of a good time I suggest you go check it out.
You can pre-order “Ire Works” now, go here to the Relapse store and do it. OR if you are feeling extra god-like you can get it with a new limited edition Dillinger shirt over here. Either one is acceptable. If you listen to kingly shit but have no desire to dress like a king click on the first link, if you listen to kingly shit and also wanna look equally kingly, click on the second. You come out ahead either way really.
Lets see what else….we’re doing tons of promo stuff for the record, answering the same questions 200 different times, so if you happen to read magazines you’ll be seeing our lovely faces in a bunch of them, we’ll try to keep you updated on bigger articles. We have some new pics in the pic section, what else, Ben’s foot is healing nicely, he’ll be ready to roll for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced soon. Some of you are still pretending that we’re playing in October or November, let me remind everyone again that we are NOT playing any shows in the US in October, and none in Europe/UK in November. EVERYTHING is being rescheduled. We’ll get the new stuff finalized and announced soon. So stop sending messages saying “Can’t wait to see you tomorrow in blah blah blah” cause it just bums us out and is just plain not true, unless blah blah blah is the Rockaway Diner, cause then you’re probably right.
Jeff got about 4000 phone calls, thanks for that. Feel free to keep calling.
Head over to Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn on the 22nd(next monday night) of this month, I’m gonna be doing a little guest DJ spot and will be spinning nonstop ’87 everything. Punk, hardcore, thrash, garage, noise, and whatever else falls under the “rock that doesn’t suck” category. Ben’s coming too and we’re gonna throw new DEP songs in the mix as the night progresses. Come out and say hi and bring gifts. It’ll be easy to find us, we’ll be the really really really good looking guys in the back…if good looking means short. John LaMacchia of Candiria/Spylacopa fame bartends, so it’s gonna be a pretty good time. We’re gonna sit around and talk about polyrhythms all night…..not.
Pssshhh….Gil Sharone was on FULL FUCKING HOUSE. Pass it on. He didn’t ever want us to see that shit but he should know better then to think we’re gonna find out about anything and let it slide. Ah fuck..this shit is rich. Seriously though don’t be embarassed man! Jeff was teenage Rudy in The Cosby Show!
So recap. Go crank the new song, preferably at maximum volume, pre-order our new record with or sans shirt, watch Gil do a cheer and talk about being chafed on Full House, come out to Lucky 13 on the 22nd, keep calling JT, and stay tuned for our new tour dates.

Go listen to Tongue Tied or Second Chance on their myspace, and if you’re singing one of their songs moments after its over, then don’t hesitate to pick up their debut record, Seven Second Surgery. |

Nine Inch Nails has left Interscope after many conflictions, especially over the past year with the artist and the label. Here is an announcement about the release:
Hello everyone. I’ve waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is atotally free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate. Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008. Exciting times, indeed.
Chiodos was scheduled to play in McAllen, TX last night but refused to play because they did not like what they saw. Here’s what Craig Owens from Chiodos had to say:
To our fans in McAllen, TX
We are super sad about everything that went down yesterday and wanted to write you a note to let you know what happened. We pulled up to the venue at 1pm and were ready to load all of gear in to get set up for both shows. When we got inside, the stage hadn’t even been set up. The venue crew started putting together a stage (that looked like it was made up of tables) at 2 PM. Once everything started getting put together our manager said he didn’t feel as though it were safe for you guys, or for us to play. Our fans are more important to us than anything and we would never want to put you guys in any danger. Please know we love playing these smaller venues with smaller stages but we want to make sure everyone can have a good time safely. We PROMISE we will be back in McAllen as soon as humanly possible to make this up. We are so sorry we couldn’t play, and are just as bummed as some of you are.
With love,
Craig
Another Animal?s self titled debut album was released this past Tuesday. The album features the single ?Broken Again.? This is the first record for Another Animal, but not for the members of the band. Whit Crane from Ugly Kid Joe joins Tony Rombola, Lee Richards, Robbie Merrill and Shannon Larkin from Godsmack to become Another Animal. When Shannon and the guys from Godsmack needed a singer for their new band, he called on his old friend Whit Crane to step in. Shannon and Whit had previously played together on Ugly Kid Joe?s album Menace to Sobriety.
Another Animal?s name is a perfect description for what the new band has become. By incorporating elements of hard rock, metal, punk, and grunge, Another Animal is an eclectic tribute to the sounds the members grew up with. “It was so organic and fun to do,” says Rombola. “It was a great experience because there were no preconceptions. We just did what we felt like in order to create some really cool songs without worrying about what audience it was for.”
With the new record in stores today and the first show of their US tour kicking off tonight, Another Animal are playing the music they love and enjoying the ride. For more information on the tour or to check out the bands single, ?Broken Again,? go to the Another Animal Myspace page.

Knights In Paris Update
It appears that after much anticipation we will finally get to hear some demos of Knights In Paris, with vocals, and over a 20 seconds long. 🙂
Here’s a recent blog post:
Now that I’m back on the road with Senses Fail, I will still try to keep you guys updated as often as possible with what’s going down with Knights In Paris. I also will try to keep up my weekly blog posts.
So here’s what is going down in the Knights In Paris camp. While I’m on tour, Nick and I will attempt to go back to how we started this, writing from the road a bit, sending files to each other, and i’m gonna work on finishing up some vocals/lyrics for some other songs we have that I haven’t finished.
As far as posting a demo goes, we have them ready to go, I’m just trying to get the “ok” to do so. Unfortunately in the music industry, sometimes things aren’t as easy as just doing something. BUT, I promise it will be sooner than later, and we’re trying our best to make it as quick as possible.
Also as I said in another post, we’re finishing up the details on getting our Online Store together, which should be done within the next couple of weeks.
Lastly, thanks to our friend Dan, we’re also working on a lovely new Myspace Layout to go up when we release some tunes.
Hope to see you all soon,
Mike
Funeral For A Friend will release a very special mini album on October 15th through Atlantic Records. Entitled ‘The Great Wide Open‘, it will include the track of the same name from the ‘Tales Don’t Tell Themselves‘ album as well as the video that is currently in rotation but also 8 classic live tracks – the 1st 2 EPs ‘Between Order & Model‘ and ‘Four Ways To Scream Your Name‘ – in full recorded live at the Barfly in London in August this year. These tracks are not available anywhere else and are exclusive to this release.
The mini album will be available at all usual retailers and we will be posting a presale link later this week for advance orders.
An Underoath Documentary
It appears that Underoath will be creating a documentary about the band, read more:
It seems I find myself and the rest of the UO camp constantly looking around at the music industry, the injustices inflicted on our peers by heartless, money hungry suits, and consistent downward spiral of quality and content within the music of so many bands we seem to be seeing along our journey and just scratching our heads. It more times than not, turns into a productive driving force to do anything and all that we can to evaluate our business ethics and more importantly our vision of what our music has to say as well as the way it sounds. In all of this there has been one facet of our industry we have yet to tackle until now….the art of film making. It seems that dvds have become the newest form of watered down content that labels are latching onto to package with cd’s and make a buck. Although I think there is something to be said about giving a band a camera for a year, letting them shoot whatever they want, whenever they want , and then editing it down for everyone to see, I feel that the innocence that this approach was once birthed in is now the newest trend of indie labels everywhere. Everyone has a dvd or a re-release packaged with some sort of video content. At this point in the game its hard to stomach 90% of the band related film coming out now. Upon realizing the magnitude of the artistic defficiency within this realm of media, we found ourselves racking our brains and hitting the drawing boards to see how UO could take what everyone is doing and attempt to raise the bar well beyond the status quo. Months of deliberation and brain storming has resulted in a small film team working under the name “The Audible Diversion Group” following our fall tour and shooting a third person documentary for the entirety of “We Believe In Dino-Tours”. The film is being shot in 720p High Definition 16:9 widescreen format. Details are still coming together, but I can tell you that this will be the best piece of visual art this band has every released. We have two places where you can read up on the progress of the project and the tour, www.myspace.com/underoathmovie and www.underoathmovie.com. Ryan has posted a short video montage of some early footage and you can read journal entries from Ryan, Seay, and Justin. I hope you all find this as exciting as I do. Be well friends and thank you to all who have come out to all of the shows on this tour thus far, and to all who have yet to come. God bless you.
