Genre: Hardcore, Metal, Punk
Sounds like: Evergreen Terace, August Burns Red,
Current Album: Eleven Eleven

Underminded was recently brought to my attention at a few guest appearances by lead vocalist Nick Martin on Chiodos latest release, Bone Palace Ballet. The deep coarse vocals of Nick Martin mixed with the perfect melodic hard metal simply rocks! Definitely worth a listen!

Faber Drive

Hometown: British Columbia, Canada
Genre: Rock, Punk, New Wave
Sounds like: Fall Out Boy, The Exies, Blink 182
Current Album: Seven Second Surgery
Myspace: myspace.com/fabordrive

Faber Drive is ultra addictive really quick. They’ve somehow manage to come out with an album where every song has a chorus so catchy its irresistible. Faber Drive a solid band that I see to making a big sound in many ears and radio stations all over. Go listen to Tongue Tied or Second Chance on their myspace, and if you’re singing one of their songs moments after its over, then don’t hesitate to pick up their debut record, Seven Second Surgery.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Scary Kids Scaring Kids

Hometown: Gilbert, AZ
Genre: Rock, Screamo, Alternative
Sounds like: Chiodos, Emery, A Change Of Pace
Current Album: Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Myspace: myspace.com/scarykids
Official Site: www.scarykidssociety.com/

Scary Kids Scaring Kids have come along way from their first album. I know its cliche to say a band has matured from album to album, but with SKSK’s latest release, maturity is the first word that comes to mind. Energetic rock with poppy chorus and dirty vocals are fluid on their self-titled latest release. Previous releases of their work I considered progressive and experimental, but in no means am I saying its a bad thing. This band has grown on me and with their latest release, I’m in love. Seriously, go pick up their latest and rock it.

Genre: Rock, Progressive, Electronica
Sounds like: Incubus, Bedlight For Blueyes, Valencia
Current Album: Echo The Sky
Myspace: myspace.com/echothesky
Official Site: echothesky.bigcartel.com/

It amazes me to hear this band, or should a say a couple guys. Echo The Sky consists of two guys, that completely blow you away to think that that much sound could come from just the two of them. These talented guys have recently released a 10 track self titled, self produced album that is definitely one to be reckoned with.

Current Album: Everything Perfect On A Wrong Day

So you like to dance? Well how about with some agression and energy. That’s how I feel when I hear Sky Eats Airplane. Hardcore melody deeply infused with your techno beats, each song is unique within itself and sounds amazing. Here’s a band that make sense in so many ways and I’m highly anticipating the direction of this band. Check them out, get out your tap shoes and through your arms around. Because things are just getting started…Sky Eats Airplane.

Sounds like: The Exies, Hinder, Papa Roach
Current Album: The Heroin Diaries

Here’s an artist that has been in the business for a long time and, until recently, has re-entered the scene with a groundbreaking album, inspired deeply by a diary that he wrote while caught in the world of drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll. I highly recommend everyone to check out his new album coming in stores this August 28th. This is some good stuff! Interested to see where he, along with DJ Ashba and James Michael go from here.

We Love To Party

Hometown: Atlanta, GA
Genre: Experimental, Hardcore, Death Metal
Sounds like: Chiodos, Underoath
Current Album:
Myspace: myspace.com/
Official Site: purevolume.com/welovetoparty

It’s not so weird these days to see a band form record a few songs and break up. What makes it even more amazing is the fact they, for this band, We Love To Party, they recorded 3 songs that have gotten such a love on the internet, they barely stood alive long enough for someone to pick them up. Amazing still to the fact, two of their three songs are nearly 2 minutes long. I wanted to share with you guys a small glimpse into a band that barely existed, but left a last impression on me with less than 10 minutes of recorded music. Enjoy this treat.

Breaking Point

Hometown: Memphis, Tennessee
Genre: Rock / Alternative / Pop
Sounds like: Hinder, DoubleDive, and Default
Current Album: Beautiful Disorder
Myspace: myspace.com/breakingpoint
Official Site: www.breakingpoint.com

This band is pretty mellow but they have some great songs. Some of my favorites are Show Me A Sign, All Messed Up, and Goodbye To You which are all from their latest album “Beautiful Disorder” in 2005. These guys are a great band to get because they are not to hard and not to soft; they are right in the middle which I like a lot. Beautiful Disorder is just an awesome album in general; one you could listen to from start to finish.

Genre: Metal / Rock
Sounds like: Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Disturbed
Current Album: King Of Everything
Myspace: myspace.com/raystreetpark

If your looking for a great metal band that rocks, this is the band for you! The lead singer has awesome vocals and meshes very well with the music. There sound is old school but in a new way with fresh wrifs and hard core lyrics. I got the privilege to see these guys in concert and they really rock. They have that “in your face” attitude that makes you want to head bang all night long. Off the stage these guys are nice and definitely would be up for hanging out with there fans. Their new album, “King Of Everything”, is availible on their website along with their earlier EP’s that are also very good. Some of the songs I really like off their new album are Comatose, King of Everything (title track), and Games. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed
