Many people have been confused with the song title that Chiodos played on the Taste Of Chaos. They announced on tour the song was called “I’m naming my kids beer one and beer two”. Then they posted the song on their myspace as untitled. Well to clear things up Chiodos has finally titled the track “Teeth The Size Of Piano Keys”. Oh, and if you’re curious about the lyrics, sing along:
” i dropped all of my lovers.
i stood up and screamed ‘ I’m in love! ‘you gave it to me through the eyes, hatred.
centuries deep and true.
i was wrong, graceless, and sick.
all of the things that i had learned had been wasted.there was no living creature as foul as i,
and all of my poems were false.
i could feel my soul, dropping down through the mattress.
i had to leap up before it hit the floor.
and I’m so alone.illumination held out in front of my reaching arms.
the darker things get the better i see.
I’m so alone and so are you,
we all live and die that way. “
You can find this new song on their upcoming album Bone Palace Ballet.
Craig Owens, lead singer of Chiodos, gives us an update on the progress of their upcoming album, Bone Palace Ballet, as well as him being featured on the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada album. Read more in his post below:
i am safely here in Lexington, Kentucky writing and recording the new Chiodos record Bone Palace Ballet. we have been here for a week now, and will be until around June 25th. we couldn’t be having more fun if we tried, and everything is coming along so beautifully with the new record. a masterpiece from/in our own minds.
i am currently reading Chucky P’s(Chuck Palahniuk) new book “Rant”, which I believe to be his best novel so far. i suggest that you go pick it up from your local bookstore (preferably a locally owned bookstore) and indulge for a bit.
today, i drive to indiana to see my entourage(the devil wears prada), and to sing a bit on their new record(which by the way, rules!).
so to close this novel of a news post…
have a great memorial weekend everyone, and smile twice for me today!
craig.

These guys are amazing musicians and strong on their instruments. Playing together since they were all just 17 they have grown into a band that has evolved into a new genre. With their latest release, Manipulator scheduled to come out this Tuesday, May 1st is amazing. Don’t believe me, check out their myspace. And if you can’t get enough you have to check out Doppelg?nger. Some of my favorite songs include Semi-Fiction, I Just Got This Symphony Goin, and Macaulay McCulkin. |

In 1998 Steven Tyler sustains a knee injury at Aerosmith’s concert in Anchorage, Alaska. The injury is bad enough to require surgery and force the band to postpone the 14 remaining dates of its North American tour. And in 1999 it is announced that drummer Tommy Lee has quit Motley Crue to devote time to his new band and family, following his reunion with Pamela Anderson Lee. Lee’s new band is called Methods of Mayhem.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Chiodos
Hometown: Davison, MI Genre: Hardcore, Emo, Rock Sounds like: The Fall Of Troy, From First To Last, Current Album: All’s Well That Ends Well Myspace: myspace.com/chiodos Official Site: chiodos.net I know I’m sure majority of you are familiar with Chiodos, but I just couldn’t resist writing something about these guys. Leaving in Flint, MI for the past 6 years it wasn’t hard not to hear of Chiodos. Seeing them play locally was a real treat. And now a few years later they have sky rocketed across America. For those of you who have yet to experience Chiodos, I demand that you goto their myspace right now and have a listen. They somewhat spuratic melody changes and massive technicality it their work is hard in itself, and then to make it sound good, they do that perfectly. Craig’s voice layered over top of that just adds to the dazzle. They are currently working on their sophomore album, scheduled to be released this fall, titled Bone Palace Ballet. Until then I’ll continue to rock out All’s Well That Ends Well, three years later. |

The Exies
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA Genre: Alternative, Rock Sounds like: Chevelle, Theory Of A Deadman, Breaking Benjamin Current Album: Head for the Door Myspace: myspace.com/theexies Official Site: the-exies.com The internet is a beautiful thing, and if it weren’t for the internet I would have never discovered this band. The Exies have a strong foundation in every song. They write songs that are powerful and some leave you feeling like you were left on a cloud. At the same time other songs bring you right back to earth. They have three album releases with a fourth coming next month. Some of my favorite songs include Inertia, Hey You, and Kickout. |

So I just recently got back from the Taste of Chaos 2007. Wow, what an awesome concert. The lineup was great and with the new revolving stage transition time from band to band was minimal and kept it going great. First Evaline played (we missed the first couple songs), then Aiden, Chiodos, Saosin, Senses Fail, 30 Seconds To Mars, and the Used (in that order).
The Used introduced us with a few new songs, some people may have already heard. The new songs were, The Bird and The Worm, Liar Liar, Pretty Handsome Awkward, and Hospital. The new album Lies For Liars is scheduled for release on May 22nd.
Chiodos also introduced a new song, which can be found in a previous post I left of a video of them. Also, exclusive to Detroit, Chiodos named their upcoming album Bone Palace Ballet, set to come out this Fall. I’m so pumped to hear it!
As for cameras, since you weren’t allowed to bring cameras in, I didn’t bother bringing it. Instead I used my nifty lil cell phone and snapped the following shots. Not bad for a cell phone eh?

Earshot
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA Genre: Hard Rock, Alternative Metal Sounds like: Strata, Chevelle, Smile Empty Soul Current Album: Two Myspace: myspace.com/earshot Official Site: www.earshotmusic.biz Crashing guitars, surging choruses, and head turning hooks. I don’t think I could have said it any better than that. Every song by Earshot is powerful, moving and full of energy, especially their 2nd album, Two. I love listening to this album over and over when I\’m running or working out. It electrifies you. Songs like “Wait”, “Someone” and “Fall-Apart” are some of my favorites. If you’re looking to update your iPod with some new music to hit the gym with, then Earshot will not fail you. |
