ARTIST OF THE DAY
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Hometown: Gilbert, AZ Genre: Rock, Screamo, Alternative Sounds like: Chiodos, Emery, A Change Of Pace Current Album: Scary Kids Scaring Kids Myspace: myspace.com/scarykids Official Site: www.scarykidssociety.com/ Scary Kids Scaring Kids have come along way from their first album. I know its cliche to say a band has matured from album to album, but with SKSK’s latest release, maturity is the first word that comes to mind. Energetic rock with poppy chorus and dirty vocals are fluid on their self-titled latest release. Previous releases of their work I considered progressive and experimental, but in no means am I saying its a bad thing. This band has grown on me and with their latest release, I’m in love. Seriously, go pick up their latest and rock it. |

Motion City Soundtrack are looking to release their new upcoming album, Even If It Kills Me, on September 18th. Here is what the band had to say about what is going on recently:
Hi all, we’re in sunny Los Angeles shooting the final takes for our newvideo for “This Is For Real”. You’ll see this puppy in a few weeks, but we wanted to give you the head’s up that this thing is going to be “RIDICULOUS”, to put it in the words of Mr. Josh Cain.
Lots of other stuff happening in MCS world. We’re less then one month away from the release of our new album (Even If It Kills Me, in stores September 18), and of course, our big U.S. Headlining Tour this Fall with MAE, ANBERLIN, and METRO STATION is going to be great. Also, in case you forgot, we released the digital single for “This Is For Real” last week on iTunes.
Some cool stuff happening on the press front as well. Remember a couple of weeks ago when we played Lollapalooza? Well, we had the privilege of doing some fun stuff with Blender magazine, including this interview from backstage at Lolla. There is some live footage mixed in as well, so check it out to find out the latest on what’s happening in our world.
ALSO, there is a great new feature in the latest issue of Kerrang Magazine for you folks across the pond (it’s also available in the U.S.) where Justin talks about the songs and artists that changed his life. Be sure to check it out on the newstands, or, head over to our Myspace page to give it a read.
xoxo TEAM MCS

Matt from Motion City Soundtrack updates us on why they had to move their upcoming album release date back, significantly back:
i’m sorry this has all been so confusing. well, the truth is that the release date HAS been pushed back to september 18. we really wanted to hurry and get the record out on july 17, but it was proving to be more difficult as time went on. if i remember correctly, a bunch of you predicted that we’d be putting a record out around september-time and were REALLY surprised when you found out we chose july 17. well, you were right. we should have gone with YOUR guts. haha.
anyway, pushing the date back was the last thing we wanted to do – mainly out of respect for all of you. if it makes any difference, we feel a lot better having a little more time to breathe and more time to make final decisions. the bottom line is, we’re REALLY happy with the way everything is headed and we don’t want to rush anything just to meet a deadline.
thanks to each and everyone of you for understanding and for sharing your concerns. the last thing we wanted to do was upset the most important people in our careers (that’s YOU GUYS!).”
Here’s some updates and rumors cleared up by Motion City Soundtrack. They recently posted this via myspace:
Hi everyone, hope all is well. Anyone catch The Great American Freedom Machine at Bamboozle over the weekend? We heard that they were pretty good, but we also heard that they ripped off a lot of our material. Damn them!
Speaking of Bamboozle, we heard that there were a lot of rumors floating around regarding our new album. Well, we just want to set the record straight: To put it simply, the album will be out on Tuesday, September 18. Any artwork, track listings, or other info regarding Even If It Kills Me that you may have heard, seen, or read is not necessarily what you will find come September 18. Maybe, but not necessarily. Everything is still in the works… That’s the truth and nothing but the truth kids!
Lastly, almost all of the presale tickets that went on sale yesterday are gone. There are a few tickets left in a couple of markets, but they’ll surely be gone any minute now, so don’t wait. Go a here to take advantage of the presale.
Thanks much (and as always) for your support!
Matt, Tony, Jesse, Josh, Justin
