In Studio: Parkway Drive
Parkway Drive has recently entered the studio to record their sophomore album. Lead singer, Winston McCall said the following about their new album:
Fans can expect a heavier, faster and more precise album than Killing With A Smile?. The new songs mark two years of intense touring, refinement and experience. The songs we are writing are the next step for us. We?re simply putting them out there for people to make of them what they will, but rest assured as far as we are concerned this is the album we have always wanted to write.
The band just completed a US tour with Comeback Kid, It Dies Today, This Is Hell and Endwell, and will follow with tours of Europe and Japan in June, then about a month of dates on the US Vans Warped Tour throughout July and August.
In a recent post by Red:
Hey Fans,
We hope you all are doing well…Here is the latest with the band.
We just ended the Sevendust tour and we have a few weeks off to get some work done at home. This past weekend Anthony was married to his wife Stephanie in a ceremony in downtown Nashville. It was a great day!
CBS is currently running commercials for the upcoming season of the TV show “Without a Trace” and our song “Let Go” is featured as the theme song for the commercials. The spot will run from the 29th of April to May 9th on CBS. Check it out!
We just recieved a Dove Award for “Rock Recorded Song of the Year” for “Breathe Into Me”. The ceremonies were held at the Grand Ole Opry house here in Nashville and will air nationwide in May. Thanks to all of you who requested the song throughout the year, it was an honor to recieve such an award.
For now we are taking time to rest before the madness of the summer touring schedule kicks in. We hope to see you all out there on the road.
We have been recieving hundreds of emails about the next record. To answer a few questions, we are in the writing process for now and we will be looking to get back into the studio sometime this fall to start recording. Currently we are laying down ideas while we are on the road. We are hopeful that a new record will release sometime before next summer. For now our touring schedule is running at a grueling pace, so it is a matter of finding the time.
Stay tuned here on myspace for our new video tour blog when we hit the road again with Three Day Grace. We will be leaving you at least 2 videos a week for the duration of the tour. We hope to see you all when we hit your area.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
The Fall Of Troy
Hometown: Mukilteo, WA Genre: Alternative, Progressive, Hardcore Sounds like: From First To Last, Chiodos, Portugal The Man Current Album: Manipulator Myspace: myspace.com/thefalloftroy Official Site: thefalloftroy.com The Fall Of Troy has increasingly became well known for their erratic vocal changes and tempos. These guys are amazing musicians and strong on their instruments. Playing together since they were all just 17 they have grown into a band that has evolved into a new genre. With their latest release, Manipulator scheduled to come out this Tuesday, May 1st is amazing. Don’t believe me, check out their myspace. And if you can’t get enough you have to check out Doppelg?nger. Some of my favorite songs include Semi-Fiction, I Just Got This Symphony Goin, and Macaulay McCulkin. |

In 1998 Steven Tyler sustains a knee injury at Aerosmith’s concert in Anchorage, Alaska. The injury is bad enough to require surgery and force the band to postpone the 14 remaining dates of its North American tour. And in 1999 it is announced that drummer Tommy Lee has quit Motley Crue to devote time to his new band and family, following his reunion with Pamela Anderson Lee. Lee’s new band is called Methods of Mayhem.

In a recent post by the band:
I am looking at the Manipulator artwork right now. There has been a CRITICAL typo in the liner notes…
One of our oldest, dearest, most talented friend Sang backup vocals on the following songs:
Cut Down All The Trees and Name The Streets After Them
The Dark Trail
Quarter Past
Oh! The Casino!?
As well as any of the keyboard/organ parts you hear. She wrote all of the keyboard parts and arranged them.
I feel absolutely terrible about this typo. I did NOT play a note of keyboards on this record. She deserves 100% credit for her contribution to the completion of this record.
We hope to bring her out when we do a headlining tour supporting Manipulator in the coming months to perform with us.
We are deeply sorry to Nouela and to anyone that plans on purchasing or listening to the songs.
Sincerely Yours,
Thomas J. Erak
You can listen to the full album in its entirety on their myspace.

The White Tie Affair‘s new single Do I Even Need To Say It on their myspace.

Lifehouse has recently finished recording their fourth studio album Who We Are. ?I wanted to get back to our roots and make a rock record again,? group leader Jason Wade tells Billboard.com, ?I feel like our (self-titled) last record, leading off with ?You and Me,? the ballad, it kinda softened us up a little bit. I think people forget that we started off as an alternative band, then we kinda got immersed in that Adult Top 40 and Top 40 world. This time it was really refreshing just to plug our guitars back in and crank it up and play some uptempo rock music.?
Lifehouse wrote 16 songs and recorded 12 for the record. The first single is “First Time”. Which in terms of Wade, ?has that summertime, young love feel to it. I?m not really surprised they ended up picking it for the first single, since we?re coming out in summer.?
The album is scheduled for a release date of June 26th. A few weeks earlier they will begin a summer tour with the Goo Goo Dolls.
Foo Fighters upcoming album
The Foo Fighters will begin recording their follow up to 2005’s In Your Honor. Foo Fighters have choosen Gil Norton to produce the album. In a recent interview with XFM Radio, frontman David Grohl said this:
We’ve been in the studio for the past month and a half, and we’ve got about another month to go. We’ve been recording with our friend Gil Norton. He worked on our second record, he’s a good guy and he makes amazing albums.
So we’re making a really big powerful record, which I’m very excited about and I cannot wait to finish. I’m not saying I’m not having fun., I’m saying I can’t wait to jump on stage and do this stuff, it’s gonna be great.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
A Wish For Marilynne
Hometown: Ocala, FL Genre: Post Hardcore, Emo Sounds like: Taking Back Sunday, Brand New Current Album: Poetic Chaos Myspace: myspace.com/awishformarilynne Official Site: A Wish For Marilynne has been a silent band for some time now. I’ve been listening to their album Poetic Chaos for a couple years now and I haven’t heard anything about them, then again I guess since they split back in later 2005, that would be the reason. Still, it amazes me that everytime I play their album to hear 1 song, I’ve just listened to the whole thing. These guys deserve the spotlight today, and I can promise you, you won’t be sorry to listened. And if you pick up their album, check out their Oasis cover song, Wonderwall. Some of my favorite tracks include Killed By Time, Tale Of A Kindred Spirit, and Bitter Realizations. |

In 1999 it is announced that Lollapalooza, the popular festival concert from years past has had the plug pulled for the second consecutive year. Organizers cite lack of a strong enough lineup, and not wanting to taint the festival’s name with a substandard bill as reasons for the cancellation.
