In a recent interview with an American college newspaper, The Maine Campus, Gerard Way had a few harsh words about the definition and over use of the word/genre “emo”. Way stated, “I think emo’s a pile of shit. I think emo is fucking garbage. It’s bullshit.” He continued to follow with, “I think there are bands that we get lumped in with that are considered emo and, by default, that starts to make us emo and all I can say is anyone actually listening to the records, put the records next to each other and listen to them and there’s actually no similarities.”
A few months back Gerard Way’s band, My Chemical Romance were a topic on The War on Emo, which was a feature in a Britsh newspaper, The Daily Mail. Way has declared war on emo himself. Where is this going?
Bleed The Dream will be calling it quits after their live performances in Anchorage, Alaska this upcoming October. There hasn’t been any release on exactly why they will be ending. They recently released Killer Inside earlier this year, in which will be their latest support. The album released on Warcon Records.
Norma Jean have split with their drummer Daniel Davidson. They stated that it was for personal and spiritual indifferences. The band will continute to tour in support of their latest release, Redeemer.
A fan of All Time Low was given a 3-day suspension in a Maryland middle school for display this photo in her locker.
Here is Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low’s response to the suspension:
Personally, I’m a little upset that anyone would find that picture to be ‘offensive.’ We tried our very hardest to look as sexy as possible and I think that maybe the administrative figures responsible for suspending the student were just jealous of our dashing, young physiques. I don’t see any harm in carrying that particular picture around in a school environment. In fact, I’ve been speculating that studies may prove that the picture actually stimulates brain activity, and promotes greater levels of success in the classroom. But that’s just one theory..

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Hometown: Gilbert, AZ Genre: Rock, Screamo, Alternative Sounds like: Chiodos, Emery, A Change Of Pace Current Album: Scary Kids Scaring Kids Myspace: myspace.com/scarykids Official Site: www.scarykidssociety.com/ Scary Kids Scaring Kids have come along way from their first album. I know its cliche to say a band has matured from album to album, but with SKSK’s latest release, maturity is the first word that comes to mind. Energetic rock with poppy chorus and dirty vocals are fluid on their self-titled latest release. Previous releases of their work I considered progressive and experimental, but in no means am I saying its a bad thing. This band has grown on me and with their latest release, I’m in love. Seriously, go pick up their latest and rock it. |

Between The Buried And Me have put their new upcoming album, Colors, on their myspace profile, in full stream. The album is out on Victory Records September 18th.
In a recent report from MTV, Panic! At The Disco have completely scrapped all their work on their 2nd album. They “didn’t really have a proper band setup”, quoted by the band. Here’s more of what they had to say:
“We went through a stage of writing that just happened because we were on tour for so long, and we were sick of those old songs so much that we decided to write songs that were really complicated and challenging for us,” guitarist Ryan Ross said. “Then we realised that it’s not going to be any fun to play these live either, so we decided to ditch the whole project. There was a story line throughout the whole record, a short story, and we decided to put that on the shelf and just start playing as a band, and it’s been a lot better.”
Fans might just be able to hear something soon, though. “We want to have the new single out by the end of the year, probably around Christmas,” drummer Spencer Smith offers. “And then have the album out in February. We hope.” This band needs all the luck in the world, I can only imagine the pressure.
