Stone Sour will be releasing a special Edition CD/DVD album of their latest album Come Whatever May. Here’s the details from Roadrunner:
Grammy-nominated rock powerhouse Stone Sour is set to release a special, enhanced edition of their gold album “Come What(ever) May” on Roadrunner Records on June 26. The special edition is jam-packed with extensive bonus material. The audio portion boasts six previously unreleased and unavailable tracks, including an acoustic cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” recorded live for a Canadian radio performance earlier this year. The bonus DVD features all four music videos from “Come What(ever) May: “30/30-150,” “Through Glass,” “sillyworld” and the band’s latest “Made of Scars.” In addition, the DVD includes a never-before-seen full concert performance. Filmed in October 2006 in Moscow at the RAMP awards, the concert documents Stone Sour’s first and only visit to Russia, a must-have for fans.
“Now before all of you fans get upset about a re-release, (because I know how you are), let me just say that I am an avid music fan and a record collector. That’s why, when the decision was made to release a special edition, we knew that it had to be just that: special,” says guitarist Josh Rand. “We added everything we could possibly get our hands on, including an entire show from Russia, making it only the greatest special edition ever! Kutless loses guitarist
Ryan Shrout leaves Kutless after 8 years to persue personal goals. Read more here from Ryan himself:
Hello Fans and Friends,
After much thought and prayer I have decided to leave my position as guitar player for Kutless. As many of you know my daughter was born on January 12th of this year. What most of you do not know is that she was born with an eye condition called Coloboma. Coloboma is pretty much gaps in some or all of the structures of the eyes. This condition is usually apparent by a keyhole shaped iris. This condition varies in severity. Today?s technology is not advanced enough to fix this condition. The statistics for Coloboma are 1 in 10, 000 children are born with this. In Ella?s case it affects both eyes, the condition goes back pretty severely into the structure of her eyes affecting her optic nerve and retina, so her vision is impaired. However, the level it is affected is still unknown. The Pediatric Ophthalmologist believes that her left eye will be legally blind and is still not sure about her right eye. Needless to say I find that it is more important for me to be around to support my wife and daughter in the unknown journey ahead. Ella?s vision capabilities are going to be a wait and see situation. We have been to the pediatric eye specialist 4 times and continue to have to go quite frequently. This is why I feel God is leading me home, to truly be the best father and husband I can be.
I wanted to write this letter to thank you for your continued love and support for my family and me. I leave the band on good terms with the other guys, and also their support for my wife, baby girl and I. We both wish each other all the success in our future life paths. In my case I really feel like I am fulfilling what God?s will is for my life. As much as I enjoy being out their every night, playing for you, and sharing the gospel I know that if I do not obey God?s will for my life, my ministry will not continue to be as blessed as it has been. This will not be the end of me playing guitar, after I get things figured out at home I hope to be able to get back in the industry somewhere. I know God is still calling me to music, I just feel that right now I need to fulfill my calling as a husband and father. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our heart for all that you have done for us. I hope that I have impacted your life as much as you have made a difference in mine. I have loved every moment I have gotten to play for you and hope it will not be too long before I am out there again. I hope to see you or hear from you soon and I will cherish the memories I have made in these last 8 years forever. You are truly the best fans in the world. If you would like to do something for our family the best thing is just to continue praying for my family and I. We want God?s will to be done in our lives, whether that be a healing or peace for our family.
Thanks, you rock!

Dexter Holland, of The Offspring has the following to say about their upcoming album:
Still working on the record over here. Most of the music is recorded and we’re working on vocals now. We counted up the other day, we actually demo’d 23 songs for this CD. Wow! That’s a new record for us. Of those we’ve recorded 13. Will they all be on the album? I don’t know! We’ll see how they turn out. Maybe we’ll cut one, or maybe we’ll write a couple more. Because we’re artists we’re flaky like that.
This will be their 8th studio album and their 1st album featuring new drummer Atom Willard. Bob Rock, whom previously produced Metallica, will be producing the album. They hope to release the album this fall, 2007. The album, and track titles have still yet to be released.
The Offspring is scheduled to appear at the Summer Sonic Festival this August 11th & 12th in Japan. Other bands to appear at the festival include Sum 41, Avenged Sevenfold, Bloc Party, Interpol, and Cyndi Lauper.

Here’s some updates and rumors cleared up by Motion City Soundtrack. They recently posted this via myspace:
Hi everyone, hope all is well. Anyone catch The Great American Freedom Machine at Bamboozle over the weekend? We heard that they were pretty good, but we also heard that they ripped off a lot of our material. Damn them!
Speaking of Bamboozle, we heard that there were a lot of rumors floating around regarding our new album. Well, we just want to set the record straight: To put it simply, the album will be out on Tuesday, September 18. Any artwork, track listings, or other info regarding Even If It Kills Me that you may have heard, seen, or read is not necessarily what you will find come September 18. Maybe, but not necessarily. Everything is still in the works… That’s the truth and nothing but the truth kids!
Lastly, almost all of the presale tickets that went on sale yesterday are gone. There are a few tickets left in a couple of markets, but they’ll surely be gone any minute now, so don’t wait. Go a here to take advantage of the presale.
Thanks much (and as always) for your support!

Funeral For A Friend has posted their upcoming album Tales Don’t Tell Themselves on their myspace.
And make sure to pick up their new album on May 14th.
Recently posted on their tour journal, Alchemy Index, Thrice has the following to share:
We?re back at home, after a really fun little run on the east coast. Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows, and those of you that braved the insane crowds at Bamboozle. It was good for us to get out of this little cave of a studio and share some new songs with you guys and play live in the states for the first time in like?a year? (wow) Big thanks to Moneen, The Receiving End of Sirens, and Norma Jean as well. It was kind of a bummer that it was such a short tour?all the bands and crew were really good dudes.
There was a little confusion surrounding our acoustic set in the bubble at Bamboozle on Saturday that I wanted to clear up real quick. Apparently they handed out ?exclusive? passes to 1000 people, because the Fire Marshall had set a very strict maximum capacity for the inside of that steamy bubble. The security guards at the door didn?t really handle the situation as well as we?d have hoped and were saying some pretty shitty things to people (and about the band) trying to figure out why they couldn?t just walk in and watch Dustin and Teppei play. I know this, because apparently Ed and I didn?t have the proper credentials to get in either, so we had to stand at the gate and watch this whole mess go down. It was beyond frustrating, and i just wanted to apologize to anyone who may have gotten the wrong information, or had a guy in a yellow shirt yell at them or tell them to beat it. It was out of our hands, and although we wish there was a way for more of you to get in and see the show, there really wasn?t anything we could do, because of the strict capacity limit. So please accept our apology for the way the whole thing was handled. It won?t happen again.
Despite the mess I just described above, and some technical difficulties during our set on Sunday, Bamboozle was a lot of fun. We had so many friends playing, and it was great too see old touring buddies, and possible future touring buddies, again. We had a little demo showdown in Saves the Day?s bus on Saturday night?two songs of theirs, two of ours, rinse and repeat. Good times. They?re heading into the studio soon, and I?m telling you?that record is gonna be great. I also had the pleasure of hearing some mixes of the new TREOS stuff, and it?s awesome as well.
So what?s next for us? We?re kinda getting into the final stretch of this project, and might have a couple more songs to track, some vocals, and assorted overdubs, and then it?s time to mix. We?ll keep you guys up to date with posts and pics on this here blog, and yes?after however many months we?ve been talking about getting you some video, we?re gonna get you some video. For real, this time. Instead of trying to shoot it ourselves, we?re having someone come in and stick a camera in our faces. So, yeah?it?s coming.
And that?s it. It?s been a long process and a huge project, and we appreciate your patience. It will be worth the wait. I promise.
be good,
-riley
