Last year musicians like David Byrne and Sufjan Stevens share the stage with literary celebs like Sarah Vowell and Jon Stewart at the first Revenge of the Book Eaters charity event, held at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Byrne, Stevens and John Roderick of the Long Winters all perform short sets at the event, which benefits the 826 Writing Centers, and tutoring workshops founded by author Dave Eggers.

We Love To Party
Hometown: Atlanta, GA Genre: Experimental, Hardcore, Death Metal Sounds like: Chiodos, Underoath Current Album: Myspace: myspace.com/ Official Site: purevolume.com/welovetoparty It’s not so weird these days to see a band form record a few songs and break up. What makes it even more amazing is the fact they, for this band, We Love To Party, they recorded 3 songs that have gotten such a love on the internet, they barely stood alive long enough for someone to pick them up. Amazing still to the fact, two of their three songs are nearly 2 minutes long. I wanted to share with you guys a small glimpse into a band that barely existed, but left a last impression on me with less than 10 minutes of recorded music. Enjoy this treat. |

The Used has announced today that they will not be attending the Warped Tour during the June/July shows due to lead singer Bert McCracken needing surgery for a node on his vocal chords. He is expected to make a full recovery. The band however does plan on returning to the tour in the US in early September when they will be headlining.
In a recent myspace post it has become apparent that Bert McCracken, The Used, has just been advised to undergo surgery due to the fact that he has developed a node on one of his vocal chords. Consequently, the band has been forced to cancel their shows on all upcoming dates during June and July, including the Van’s Warped Tour. Doctors have recommended treatment as well as rest without singing and are expecting a full recovery. He will be able to sing again in about five weeks.
The band is incredibly disappointed but promised to return to touring in the USA in early September with headlining dates. “Kevin Lyman and the Van’s Warped tour have been amazing supporters of our band and we are truly saddened that we won’t be able to perform on this year’s tour,” states Quinn Allman, The Used?s guitarist. We hope to have new tour details ready for release shortly.
The Rockstar Get A Life Tour currently features The Used, The Bled, Say Anything, and Street Drum Corps. The tour will be featured a different colleges across the nation encouraging kids to get a job by create a concert/job fair. No specific dates have been set yet, but be on the lookout between September 1st through October 15th. You can get more info from their website.

In 2000, Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins announces that the Seattle-based rock group will officially break up at year’s end. Corgan claims that he and his bandmates are tired of “fighting the good fight against the Britneys of the world.” Smashing Pumpkins have not played a concert since 2000, until now, where they will not only be touring, but releasing a new album Zeitgeist in July.
