Chiodos was scheduled to play in McAllen, TX last night but refused to play because they did not like what they saw. Here’s what Craig Owens from Chiodos had to say:
To our fans in McAllen, TX
We are super sad about everything that went down yesterday and wanted to write you a note to let you know what happened. We pulled up to the venue at 1pm and were ready to load all of gear in to get set up for both shows. When we got inside, the stage hadn’t even been set up. The venue crew started putting together a stage (that looked like it was made up of tables) at 2 PM. Once everything started getting put together our manager said he didn’t feel as though it were safe for you guys, or for us to play. Our fans are more important to us than anything and we would never want to put you guys in any danger. Please know we love playing these smaller venues with smaller stages but we want to make sure everyone can have a good time safely. We PROMISE we will be back in McAllen as soon as humanly possible to make this up. We are so sorry we couldn’t play, and are just as bummed as some of you are.
With love,
Craig

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Hometown: Gilbert, AZ Genre: Rock, Screamo, Alternative Sounds like: Chiodos, Emery, A Change Of Pace Current Album: Scary Kids Scaring Kids Myspace: myspace.com/scarykids Official Site: www.scarykidssociety.com/ Scary Kids Scaring Kids have come along way from their first album. I know its cliche to say a band has matured from album to album, but with SKSK’s latest release, maturity is the first word that comes to mind. Energetic rock with poppy chorus and dirty vocals are fluid on their self-titled latest release. Previous releases of their work I considered progressive and experimental, but in no means am I saying its a bad thing. This band has grown on me and with their latest release, I’m in love. Seriously, go pick up their latest and rock it. |

Echo The Sky
Hometown: Kansas City, Missouri Genre: Rock, Progressive, Electronica Sounds like: Incubus, Bedlight For Blueyes, Valencia Current Album: Echo The Sky Myspace: myspace.com/echothesky Official Site: echothesky.bigcartel.com/ It amazes me to hear this band, or should a say a couple guys. Echo The Sky consists of two guys, that completely blow you away to think that that much sound could come from just the two of them. These talented guys have recently released a 10 track self titled, self produced album that is definitely one to be reckoned with. |

Last year musicians like David Byrne and Sufjan Stevens share the stage with literary celebs like Sarah Vowell and Jon Stewart at the first Revenge of the Book Eaters charity event, held at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Byrne, Stevens and John Roderick of the Long Winters all perform short sets at the event, which benefits the 826 Writing Centers, and tutoring workshops founded by author Dave Eggers.

Warped Tour 2007 was a hit and I was able to snap some shots of a few bands that I seen. Some of the quality of the pictures are poor, but this was due to the extreme heat and the amazingly aggressive crowd in Detroit, MI. So without further adeu here of some pictures:
