It’s been a long time since we’ve heard any new music from Cinematic Sunrise (featuring Craig Owens of Chiodos) and well, theres light at the end of the tunnel. In a recent update they’re enlightened us with a new song on their myspace as well as details of an album. Here is an update from Craig and the guys in the studio:

hello all.

it is day 4 here in the studio for me tracking vocals. we are rocking out a total of 9 songs right now.

today bryan puked on the side of the road on the way here, and it was awesome. i filmed it, so dont worry! you’ll be seeing it soon once we stop being lazy, and post a video update from the studio.

we are almost finished with the following songs…and yes, we are re recording all of the older ones. so get your demo listens in while you can…

goodbye friendship, hello heartache.
umbrellas and elephants.
you said you loved me.
our honeymoon at weston hills.
pulling a piano from a pond.

so, we’ve got about 4 more to go. want to help us get this music out quicker? send as many Kostume Kids as you can to Bryan’s address, as soon as humanly possible.

Craig and the CinSun family.

Warped Tour 2007 was a hit and I was able to snap some shots of a few bands that I seen. Some of the quality of the pictures are poor, but this was due to the extreme heat and the amazingly aggressive crowd in Detroit, MI. So without further adeu here of some pictures:

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Cinematic Sunrise

Hometown: Detroit, MI
Genre: Punk, Alternative, Rock
Sounds like: Brand New, So They Say
Current Album:
Myspace: myspace.com/cinematicsunrise
Official Site:

If there had to be another side band that I could see going somewhere, it’d be Cinematic Sunrise. Many are now familiar with The Almost, Aaron Gillepsie of Underoath’s side band, and the success that they’ve reached. Well as for leader singer of Chiodos, Craig Owens, Cinematic Sunrise is the same. With beautiful and calm emotions and harmony, the couple demos they’ve released are phenomenal. I’ll look forward greatly to hearing more music by these guys.

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE DAY: From Autumn To Ashes Pioneers

In 1998 a bill is introduced in the Michigan state legislature that would regulate concert attendance by minors under the age of 18. SB 1000 would give local governments in Michigan the authority to decide whether specific concerts are harmful to minors. Prominent music industry organizations, including the Recording Industry Assn. of America (RIAA), plan to oppose the bill.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Pierce The Veil

Hometown: San Diego, CA
Genre: Punk, Emo, Post Hardcore
Sounds like: Senses Fail, A Change Of Pace, Endicott
Current Album: A Celebration of an Ending
Myspace: myspace.com/piercetheveil
Official Site:

When I first heard this band they went by a different name. Originally they were called Before Today. In late 2006 Before Today officially change their name to Pierce The Veil, same band, same music style. Their music is full of layered vocal melodies and complex guitar sounds. They signed in 2003 with Equal Vision Records. Pierce The Veil is one of their song titles when they were Before Today. Since changing their name they have release 2 new songs on their myspace. To hear some more of their music check out purevolume.com/beforetoday. Some of my favorite tracks include Failure Is Relative, Enlarge Your Hearts, and Staring At Backgrounds. They are currently working on a new album as an unsigned band. Look out to hear new music from these guys.
