Thrice update on new album
Recently posted by the band:
Let’s see? We started tracking the last Air song today. It?s a little upbeat number with breakbeats galore and I must say? Ri manned up and nailed it within a couple takes. We?ll be tracking the rest of the instruments for this song throughout the week, and maybe it?s about time to start thinking about rehearsing for the upcoming mini East Coast tour. Bah. On the other side of things, we?ve started discussing the rest of the aspects of the record like artwork, packaging, etc. Wonderful.
Love,
Teppei
A recent message from Atreyu:
Hello everyone,
It?s been a while since we?ve made a vague semblance of an update, so here goes:
For the last few months we?ve been home working on songs for the new record. We ended up writing about 25, all of which we are really siked on. We’ve been working with John Feldman on this record, and we couldn?t be happier. In fact, we?ve been in the studio for about a month and things are coming out really awesome. This album is definitely on its way to being the biggest, most epic record to date for us. We?re counting down the days till we can play them for you.
On that note, we have been confirmed for the Family Values tour this summer. We?ll be playing along side Korn, Evanescence, Flyleaf, Hell Yeah, and Trivium. We’re really excited to be a part of such a big and amazing tour. There are going to be so many great bands that we’ll be sharing the stage with, we’re ecstatic. We can?t wait to get back out on the road and play shows for y?all again.
On a third note, we have a few live videos that will be available online in the near future. One is a video for ?Untitled Finale? that we shot on our World Championship tour (which we thank everyone again for making it our best headliner yet), and the other is an older video that we found of our cover of Bon Jovi’s ?You Give Love A Bad Name?. This video is compiled from footage form Warped Tour two years ago. It is a great live video that we thought was lost, but hey, we found it! Well that?s the Atreyu news for now. Keep your eyes and ears open for the new jams very very soon and we’ll look forward to seeing you aaaaall soon.
Brandon and Atreyu

Chiodos
Hometown: Davison, MI Genre: Hardcore, Emo, Rock Sounds like: The Fall Of Troy, From First To Last, Current Album: All’s Well That Ends Well Myspace: myspace.com/chiodos Official Site: chiodos.net I know I’m sure majority of you are familiar with Chiodos, but I just couldn’t resist writing something about these guys. Leaving in Flint, MI for the past 6 years it wasn’t hard not to hear of Chiodos. Seeing them play locally was a real treat. And now a few years later they have sky rocketed across America. For those of you who have yet to experience Chiodos, I demand that you goto their myspace right now and have a listen. They somewhat spuratic melody changes and massive technicality it their work is hard in itself, and then to make it sound good, they do that perfectly. Craig’s voice layered over top of that just adds to the dazzle. They are currently working on their sophomore album, scheduled to be released this fall, titled Bone Palace Ballet. Until then I’ll continue to rock out All’s Well That Ends Well, three years later. |

Framing Hanley
Hometown: Nashville, TN Genre: Rock / Alternative Sounds like: Trust Company, Unwritten Law, Theory Of A Deadman Current Album: The Moment Myspace: myspace.com/framinghanley Official Site: www.framinghanley.com Framing Hanley has a great sound, but with their intense live shows the band quickly gained a large following in Nashville. In November of 2006 they signed with Silent Majority Group and just finished recording their debut album “The Moment.” Their new album is set to hit stores May 15th and I can’t wait to add this one to my collection. Some of the songs I really liked were Here me know, Home, and a slower track Alone in this bed. If your looking for a another good rock band this is the one. |

Ozzy Ozbourne has released details on his next album Black Rain. Here’s the post from blabbermouth.net
OZZY OSBOURNE will release his new album, “Black Rain”, on May 22 via Epic Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include “I Don’t Wanna Stop”, “Not Going Away”, “Thank God For The Almighty Dollar”, “Civilize The Universe”, “Black Rain”, “Countdown’s Begun” and “Trap Door”.
You can tell by looking at many of the song titles on “Black Rain” ? Ozzy Osbourne‘s first album with new studio material in six years ? that the rock legend took a good look at his own life and the world around him. He also salutes his fans?among the most devoted in the world ? with such songs as “Here For You” and “Lay Your World On Me”.
“Black Rain” finds the two-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee as vital, creative and evocative as ever. You also get the clear sense that he’s operating at the peak of powers, as a singer and songwriter. Ozzy fans can log onto www.ozzy.com to hear samples of tracks from the album.

Sample#15Ozzy co-produced the album with Kevin Churko and recorded it with his touring band: Zakk Wylde (guitar), Mike Bordin (drums) and Blasko (bass). Ozzy says that he felt a new freedom while recording the album at his home studio in Los Angeles. The result: songs that are not only hard-hitting but adventurously arranged and sonically fresh. Explains Ozzy, “It’s a well-put together album. I think it’s evident that it hasn’t been just slapped out and put down. I took my time on the album and Zakk plays some amazing stuff as always”. Ozzy feels “Black Rain” is the true follow-up to his classic “No More Tears”, the 1991 album that also challenged the expectations of what an Ozzy Osbourne album should sound like.
Some of the songs on “Black Rain” are ominous in their emotional tone ? they examine a world teeming with greed, war, deception, bad drugs (“11 Silver”, about crystal meth) and environmental havoc. Ozzy also zooms in on the overriding sense of fear and dread that define our times ? perpetrated, he feels, by news programs that make “entertainment” out of terrible news events.
Says Ozzy: “I just thought there’s so much fucking bad news, the only way I can release it is to put it in a song”. On the other hand, the new track “Civilize The Universe” offers a sense of hope, as Ozzy sings: “I’m alive/Watching better turn to worse/One more time/Try to civilize the universe”.
Ozzy will support “Black Rain” with a world tour beginning in Moscow on May 27 which continues through July 6. Then starting July 12 in Seattle, he’ll headline the 12th annual Ozzfest tour throughout America.
The pioneer and trendsetter has pulled the plug on ticket prices in America and given the power back to the fans, calling this summer’s Ozzfest “FreeFest”. That’s right, this year’s Ozzfest is entirely free for fans, an unprecedented move for an artist and tour of this stature.
Ozzy is being honored in May on VH1‘s “Rock Honors” telecast. He will perform three songs on the broadcast including a track from “Black Rain”. Premiering on Thursday, May 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, “VH1 Rock Honors” will be taped at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 12.
