With the title track from their upcoming album, “Scream Aim Fire,” already blazing at Rock Radio, the Welsh metal-core band BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE announces that they will join forces with Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu on the Main Stage for “Taste of Chaos,” 2008. The tour kicks off Friday, February 29 in Denver, CO, and will play more than 40 cities in the U.S. and Canada through to late April. The UK’s Kerrang! magazine recently cited a Bullet show at London’s Brixton Academy as one of the “100 Greatest Gigs Ever,” so U.S. fans should be in for a string of sensational performances.
The “Taste of Chaos” dates will be the first North American tour for Bullet For My Valentine since early 2007 when they sold out their first headline tour this side of “the Pond.” Just prior to “Taste of Chaos,” B4MV will play three weeks-worth of headline dates in the UK and Europe, including a kick-off concert in their native Wales.
Bullet For My Valentine – Matthew “Matt” Tuck/vocals, Michael “Padge” Paget/Guitar, Michael “Moose” Thomas/drums, and Jason “Jay” James/Bass – saw their 2006 debut album, “The Poison” – dubbed “One of the finest debut albums in rock history” by a major UK daily – sail past the million sales mark, selling 350,000 in the U.S. alone.
“Scream Aim Fire” was produced by Colin Richardson (Machinehead, Funeral For A Friend) who also produced “The Poison,” and was recorded at Sonic Ranch near El Paso, TX earlier this year. The eleven new songs are, according to frontman Tuck, “really melodic heavy metal…catchy, hooky choruses and full-on vocals, with the music being very in-your-face and heavy…it’s a lot more uptempo [than ‘The Poison’], a lot more aggressive.” Still a week away from the official U.S. radio “add” date, the album’s title track has been the #1 Most Added track at CMJ’s Loud Rock chart, and #1 Most Added at FMQB’s Metal Detector chart.

Bullet for My Valentine have been forced to pull out of their upcoming support slot with Metallica at Wembley stadium on July 8 as well as their own ‘secret’ Jeff Killed John show on July 3. According to an official statement, frontman Matt Tuck was due to have a tonsillectomy mid July but, due to unforeseen complications, the operation had to be brought forward at the advice of his doctor. “Matt is recovering well but has been ordered not to sing for a minimum four week period, which means that the band have no choice but not to play the shows listed above,” says the statement. “If I’d known my tonsils were going to cause me to miss shows like these I’d have fucking ripped them out myself long ago,” says Tuck. “I am totally gutted at not being able to play these shows and the only consolation the boys and I can take from it is that we are now fully focused on the album and we’ll be back in the studio as soon as the doctors say I can sing again. I truly can’t wait for you fuckers to hear it!” Bullet’s as yet untitled new album will be released through Sony BMG in September. [via Kerrang]

Jamie’s Elsewhere
Hometown: Sacramento, CA Genre: Rock, Screamo, Indie Sounds like: Silverstein, Emery, Taking Back Sunday Current Album: Goodbye Rocketman, St. George Is Under Fire Myspace: myspace.com/jamieselsewhere Official Site: Here’s a band that I’ve grown to love. I originally found them after the demise of Mozart Season. After hearing a few songs I was thoroughly impressed. Jamies Elsewhere’s sound is smooth and controlled, sometimes layered with raging vocals. I love their sound and what they can bring to the table. Jamie’s Elsewhere are in a elite group that has so many dynamics in their music, it’s just right. I’m looking forward to picking up their debut album in a couple weeks. Stop what you’re doing and check out their myspace. |

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE DAY: Bullet For My Valentine Tears Don’t Fall

Four years ago today, Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was arrested on drugs and drink-driving charges after he collided with a car after going through a red light in his home town of Des Moines, Iowa. Gray, (who wears a pig mask on stage) then tried to write a cheque for $1,000 (?600) to the other driver, who then called the police. Gray failed two alcohol tests at the scene and was arrested for possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, as well drink-driving.

Michael Thomas, drummer for Bullet For My Valentine, was recently interviewed by UVTV. Here’s a few things he had to say:
This record is more of what we like to do…a lot faster than The Poison, it’s heavier. It’s more of the songs we wanted to do now, The Poison was like a collection of songs that were hanging around forever, three to five years and a few songs have been added to it but this album was written in the space of twelve months…in my eyes it’s a much better album. We write music as a band so we just leave the lyrics to Matt I don’t like the whole emo thing. There’s a song about warfare on this record, a song about someone bullying, then some about demons.
We’re still looking forward for a release date, tracklist, and artwork. Further details will be to come.
Escape The Fate has ended their tour early with Bullet For My Valentine and The Confession.
Here’s the release by the band itself:
As some of you might have heard through other sources, last Friday we were indeed let go from the Bullet For My Valentine tour. We know you guys are disappointed, as are we. We, more than anything wanted to finish this tour and rock your faces off every night. Unfortunately, this decision was out of our control and we will not be playing any more of these shows.
But, we will be back ALL summer long, rocking The Hurley Stage on Warped Tour throughout the ENTIRE country. Also for all of our international fans, hold tight, we will have a pretty big announcement to make for the Fall. We love each and everyone of you. Escape The Fate fans are definitely the coolest kids on the block.
Love,
-Escape The Fate
Bullet For My Valentine will be releasing a deluxe version of The Poison on June 12th. The deluxe version includes 4 new unreleased songs, a bonus DVD and special packaging. If you don’t have The Poison here’s your chance to get a deluxe edition.

My Darling Murder
Hometown: Phoenix, AZ Genre: Hard Rock, Metal Sounds like: Bullet For My Valentine, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle Current Album: My Darling Murder Myspace: myspace.com/mydarlingmurder Official Site: mydarlingmurder.com It’s a sad thing to hear when a band that is just starting ends too soon. In my opinion, this is how I feel with My Darling Murder. They self-titled debut album was strong, powerful, and well, together. I was very impressed when I first heard these guys and very upset to hear that they couldn’t stay together. They still have a few songs up on their myspace and you should definitely go take a listen. |
