ARTIST OF THE DAY
Earshot

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Genre: Hard Rock, Alternative Metal
Sounds like: Strata, Chevelle, Smile Empty Soul
Current Album: Two
Myspace: myspace.com/earshot
Official Site: www.earshotmusic.biz

Crashing guitars, surging choruses, and head turning hooks. I don’t think I could have said it any better than that. Every song by Earshot is powerful, moving and full of energy, especially their 2nd album, Two. I love listening to this album over and over when I\’m running or working out. It electrifies you. Songs like “Wait”, “Someone” and “Fall-Apart” are some of my favorites. If you’re looking to update your iPod with some new music to hit the gym with, then Earshot will not fail you.

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE DAY: Chiodos Baby, You Wouldn’t Last a Minute on the Creek

Back in 1995 on this day a former Led Zeppelin fan who calls the band’s music “satanic” is arrested for allegedly trying to stab guitarist Jimmy Page backstage with a pocket knife at a Page and Robert Plant concert in the Detroit area.

You and I are like oil and water, and we’ve been trying, trying trying ohhhh, to mix it up.

Atreyu working on fourth album

Comments Off on Atreyu working on fourth album

Atreyu is currently in studio recording to their fourth album. The album is being produced by John Feldmann, same man who signed The Used and produced Good Charlotte. Atreyu frontman Alex Varkatzas said the following about the new album, “I don’t want to give anything away, but we’re tossing around all kinds of ideas and are leaving ourselves open to endless possibilities. We are going to challenge ourselves.” We should expect to hear some tracks, during the 2007 Family Values Tour. The album is yet to be titled.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Lynam

Hometown: Birmingham, Alabama
Genre: Rock, Alternative
Sounds like: Def Leppard, Hinder
Current Album: Slave to the Machine
Myspace: myspace.com/lynam
Official Site: www.lynamsucks.com

I came across this band about 5 months ago when I went to a Eighteen Visions/Hinder concert. They played amazing and sounded great. It was hard not to look at the lead singer and not think Steve Tyler (from Aerosmith). Lynam’s music is great for driving too or just listening to on the beach. Their most recent album, Slave To The Machine plays wonderfully from beginning to end. Some key songs are Tanis (Change Your Mind), Giving Up On Rock ‘n’ Roll, and the heart ballad By Your Side. I’d recommend this album to anyone who’s a strong fan of solid rock, one trait Lynam pulls of very well.

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE DAY: I Am Ghost Our Friend Lazurus Sleeps

40 years ago today the cover of the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album is staged and photographed at Chelsea Manor Studios in London using collage and wax figures from Madame Tussaud’s famous museum. The actual cover is a painting of that photograph. Among the likenesses featured on the cover are Mae West, Shirley Temple, Fred Astaire, Bob Dylan, Tony Curtis, Marlon Brando, Oscar Wilde, Marlene Dietrich and W.C. Fields.
