ARTIST OF THE DAY
Earshot
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA Genre: Hard Rock, Alternative Metal Sounds like: Strata, Chevelle, Smile Empty Soul Current Album: Two Myspace: myspace.com/earshot Official Site: www.earshotmusic.biz Crashing guitars, surging choruses, and head turning hooks. I don’t think I could have said it any better than that. Every song by Earshot is powerful, moving and full of energy, especially their 2nd album, Two. I love listening to this album over and over when I\’m running or working out. It electrifies you. Songs like “Wait”, “Someone” and “Fall-Apart” are some of my favorites. If you’re looking to update your iPod with some new music to hit the gym with, then Earshot will not fail you. |

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Lynam
Hometown: Birmingham, Alabama Genre: Rock, Alternative Sounds like: Def Leppard, Hinder Current Album: Slave to the Machine Myspace: myspace.com/lynam Official Site: www.lynamsucks.com I came across this band about 5 months ago when I went to a Eighteen Visions/Hinder concert. They played amazing and sounded great. It was hard not to look at the lead singer and not think Steve Tyler (from Aerosmith). Lynam’s music is great for driving too or just listening to on the beach. Their most recent album, Slave To The Machine plays wonderfully from beginning to end. Some key songs are Tanis (Change Your Mind), Giving Up On Rock ‘n’ Roll, and the heart ballad By Your Side. I’d recommend this album to anyone who’s a strong fan of solid rock, one trait Lynam pulls of very well. |

40 years ago today the cover of the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album is staged and photographed at Chelsea Manor Studios in London using collage and wax figures from Madame Tussaud’s famous museum. The actual cover is a painting of that photograph. Among the likenesses featured on the cover are Mae West, Shirley Temple, Fred Astaire, Bob Dylan, Tony Curtis, Marlon Brando, Oscar Wilde, Marlene Dietrich and W.C. Fields.
