Comments Off on Kerith (Violinist/Vocalist) Leaves I Am Ghost

The updates on Kerith’s departure with I Am Ghost are as stated below. This is a sad thing to see, but at the same time I’d rather her health be the fullest more than anything. I respect her decision and wish her the best. Here’s the full myspace post below:

We know a lot of you have been awaiting an explanation of Kerith’s departure from the band. We just want to say this has been an extremely difficult time for us. All you have been so supportive, we appreciate it greatly. We will truely miss Kerith, but we understand she needs to do, what she needs to do to be healthy and happy. We wish her the best of luck in her future.

Some of you have been inquiring what are we breaking up? are we taking time off?
The answer to this is no. We love what we do and we are going to continue to work hard to share our music with everyone. As you see we have a non-stop touring schedule and we hope to see you all very soon.

Anyway, below is Kerith’s message to all our fans with more detailed information.

Thanks again for all of your continued support.
We love you to death.
I Am Ghost

Dear I Am Ghost family,

Writing this is one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do. As many of you know, I had to drop off I Am Ghost’s last tour due to severe health problems as a result of touring that put me in the hospital. After 3 weeks of pondering, wondering, justifying, deliberating, and lots of crying, I have come to the conclusion that the band’s current touring lifestyle is incompatible with my health needs. So, I have left the band.

As far as my health goes, it’s nothing for you guys to be worried about. The only time it was ever a problem was on tour, simply because touring in a van doesn’t allow for any sort of routine or restful environment that my body apparently needs. So my body could never heal itself from even just a common cold, and I would get secondary infections/conditions like laryngitis, pharyngitis, exhaustion, dehydration, and not being able to properly digest food or even keep it down for days at a time. But I don’t have a disease or a serious health condition, and I’m not pregnant either! 🙂 So no worries, now that I’m not on tour, my health will be just fine! It sounded like some of you have been pretty worried, so I wanted to clear that up!

The past 2 years with I Am Ghost have been inexplicably amazing. I was able to fulfill many of my dreams, and I was able to meet so many awesome people along the way, thanks to you guys. I will miss playing shows, writing & recording new music, and of course, I will miss YOU: our amazing fans.

This is going to be a very difficult phase in my life, but I know it is not the end. I know that music is in my future. I am thinking about subbing in elementary school while I get to know the schools and districts in the area, maybe doing private tutoring or music lessons, and I’m also really excited about being more involved in my church in Costa Mesa, Rock Harbor Church. I might even have the opportunity to start a choir there!

I hope that you can be supportive of me and affirm my integrity as you discuss this with each other, and I promise to do the same for the band. I want nothing more than for I Am Ghost to continue on its path toward success, and I know they are counting on your continued support through this transition. I will do my best to stay active & available to answer any questions you might have, including questions about my leaving, on this board for the next couple of weeks during this transition.

Thank you for giving me the chance to fulfill so many of my dreams; I couldn’t have done any of this without your support and encouragement. I love you all, and you will always have a very special place in my heart. As evidence to that, I would like to publicly invite you all to be my friends on myspace…as long as you promise not to spam me, hahaha. KEEP IN TOUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Kerith
